For the past 6+ years at Criquet, I have led the merchandising and design direction for the brand. I have professionalized our product development process, implemented a product strategy, improved quality and fit, and built a team, all of which is still a continuous work in progress. Each day presents a new opportunity to learn, and I thrive on solving problems, facing challenges head-on, and driving for results.

Product Development & Design

Through customer feedback, reviews, competitor benchmarks, sales results, and return/exchange data, I expanded our core items to include premium and performance fabrications. Also I added a Slim Fit offering to our line to bridge the gap in sizing and cater to tall sizes.

I’ve implemented a product development calendar and seasonal concepts to create cohesive collections, manage production, and communicate product launches and availability to our marketing and sales teams.  

 

Merchandising & Inventory

With input from key stakeholders, I create the seasonal lineplan and own the long-term product strategy. I ensure our assortment is on brand for the Criquet Man, relevant in materials, styling, and end-use, and is differentiated from our competitors.

In accordance to our financial projections, I plan all of our buys to meet our sales goals. I write all POs. I perform a monthly forecast and reconcile inventory needs between web and wholesale across the entire assortment. I also analyze sales to create weekly, monthly, and seasonal product recaps to communicate results to the team.

Team

I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to lead and develop a product team: currently one senior designer and one product development associate. I pride myself in setting an example of leadership at Criquet through striving for an inclusive company culture, improving communication, being able to work well cross-functionally, driving for results and effective decision-making, and being a reliable expert in my role.

 

Sourcing

As our business needs evolve, I’ve grown our vendor base, focused on developing long-term relationships with a handful of strategic manufacturing partners. It is my sourcing strategy to cultivate these partnerships over time; we’ve seen more consistent quality, better terms, and reliable timing as a result. I am not in the business of chasing the lowest cost each season and find negotiations are easier when both parties stand to benefit for the long term.

Systems & Operations

I played an instrumental role in moving our online store across three different web platforms, migrating our product catalog and physical inventory. Today, I manage all of our online merchandising and SKU/item catalog across several systems. I partner with our 3PL for all inbound shipments and manage inventory.
